There's a chill in the air, and leaves are beginning to change colors which means fall is officially here ! This week we colored and put together our very own apple trees, and created our very own apples.
Also today was our Olympic Spirit Day ! Please enjoy the photos !Have a great weekend, see everyone on Tuesday ! What a great day we had today ! This morning our school enjoyed the Rain Forest show that was presented thanks to the Charlton PTO. We were able to see a beautiful 24 year old macaw, a baby parrot, different types of snakes, and even a kinkajou monkey ! This evening there will be two special Rain Forest Exhibit shows at Heritage school. The first one will be at 5:00pm, and the later show at 7:00pm. Doors open at 4:30 and 6:30. Admission is only $5 per person, and tickets will be sold at the door. Also today we enjoyed our music therapy sessions with Miss Jenna. She sang some classics along with fresh music for our students to enjoy. Lastly, tomorrow is our Olympic Spirit Day. I will be representing the Red Team during our sports event at the assembly tomorrow afternoon, so if you'd like to send your children in wearing red we'd love it! Here are some photographs from today. Happy Friday everyone! Now that Fall is finally here, room 101 really does have lots to crow about ! There was lots of giggling in our classroom as we painted tiny fingers and ticklish feet and toes. Have a great weekend everyone.
Today was a Thursday that was full of live acoustic music in our classroom! We were thrilled that our Music Therapy sessions have restarted. Miss Jenna is our new Music Therapist, and the children had a great time exploring her musical instruments, dancing, jumping, and going under the parachute ! Please enjoy these precious photos from today ! Look at the smiles on the faces of these three little ones as the parachute came down on them ! ^_^
Tuesday and Wednesday were a blast ! On these days we worked on learning about our bodies. We read fun stories, colored our own individual body part books, and even stamped our fingerprints on our magnifying glass sheets. : ) Here are some photographs from Tuesday and Wednesday.
PS: In the third photograph you may notice that our room was a bit dark. As I am sure you all know that the power went out through our town, but that didn't stop us from wrapping up our group craft before heading outside for recess. : ) Week two is full of alphabet fun in room 101 !
On Tuesday and Wednesday we read "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom," along with danced to the song, and created adorable coconut tree projects. The first project was a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom letter tree along with a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom name tree. Here are some photographs: We had a fun filled first week in room 101! Our theme this week was "Back to School!" Everyday we worked on a special craft to go with this theme, here's what we did everyday: Tuesday: Back to School Hand Prints Wednesday: Cut & Paste School Bus Thursday: School Bus Book of Colors Friday: Children on the Bus craft We also enjoyed fun fall stories, songs, outdoor playtime on the playground, and had a blast playing in the sand sensory table and rice sensory buckets. Here are a couple of photos from this week, including a fun photo of our classroom bulletin outside our classroom (thanks Mrs. Kallgren for your help!) Mrs. Reynolds helping our friends complete a fun craft on Wednesday. Although our first day of school happened to be a rainy day, it was full of sunshine with our smiling friends who joined us today ! Our first school activity was a special hand print painting with a lovely back to school note and the children's signatures. They're drying in the classroom as I type this blog post, so keep a look out in their backpacks in the next couple of days for this precious craft. : )
